My conference season has concluded, and now I’m back into the daily grind that I was used to before I was gone for 11 days (after ACPA I went to San Francisco for some R&R). During ACPA I had the opportunity to meet professionals and fellow graduate students that I have ‘known’ (via Twitter) for a while now. I’m so lucky to be in a field that I can connect with so many people in small amount of time, but now comes the follow-up.
How to stay connected with the people you meet…email, hand written notes?
Staying connected with people you have met at conferences should be intentional. Send a tweet (or DM), an email, a hand-written note. All of these gestures can help you in the long run to create meaningful connections and give you a chance to have a mini reunion at the next conference (always fun)!
Now’s the chance- keep up with those connections that you have made (at ACPA, at NASPA, at SROW).
What are you going to do to be intentional?
