Birch Box Review: May

image (2)Happy last day of May! I can’t believe JUNE is here tomorrow! The weather in NYC hasn’t felt like it’s this time of year just yet but I think everything is on a delay from that winter we had! Here’s my latest review of my BirchBox!

PIXI Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balm

I’m all about the lip gloss and recently I’ve decided to not purchase any more so of course I get this beauty in the May box. If you know me you know that pink is my BFF so when I twisted this lip balm and saw that amazing color…I was so excited! This was a perfect shade for me too, not too pink where it looks like you’re trying too hard and not too light where it makes your look younger.

It’s moisturizing formula contains shea butter (it smells amazing) and Vitamin E to soothe prevent future dryness. I know I need help keeping my lips from drying out so much plus this has a nice pigment to keep color on- fights dryness with some color…sign.me.up!

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream

I’m really picky about my shaving cream because I have really dry skin (hello eczema) and I found one that doesn’t irritate my skin. Well say hello to my new shaving cream. My legs were still silky smooth at the end of the day! I love this feeling! With a moisturizing base of omega-rich squalene, organic shea butter, jojoba oil, and coconut oil protects against the redness and irritation associated with shaving, while organic green tea extracts infuse skin with antioxidants. FYI this cream does not foam up which I thought it needed to so I may have used too much.

Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Lotion

Every night I use a lotion before bed and I have found my new night cream! This spa therapy lotion really has that feel of ‘Hey…I’m at the spa’ when really I’m just here at home. Japanese sea fennel extracts calm irritation and soothe skin. Other sea-based vitamins and minerals absorb into skin to moisturize it. This has worked nicely on my eczema that’s pretty bad on my upper arms (please see a doctor for your own skin issues, this has worked for me nicely, along with my medicated cream, but might not work for everyone in the same way).

32 Oral Care Effervescent Breath Crystals with IsoVoxy

Think of these as pop rock breath mints. That’s exactly what they felt like. These teeth-cleaning crystals pack zinc and IsoVoxy to kill odor-causing bacteria. Once dissolved, they leave a fresh scent courtesy of natural peppermint flavors. I’m gonna have to say…I’m not a fan. Call my old fashioned but I can’t separate this from pop rocks. I’ll stick to brushing, flossing, mouthwash, and mints!

Nexxus® Color Assure™ Pre-Wash Primer , Vibrancy Retention Shampoo, and Vibrancy Retention Conditioner

I take a lot of pride in my hair- color, style, cut…all of that. I use Sebastian Drench to hydrate my hair on the daily. This kit just didn’t do it for me. The primer felt a bit greasy in my hair and the shampoo and conditioner just didn’t cut it for me. I guess that sometimes I’m not a fan of venturing out of the norm when it comes to my hair (even though I think I’m an official brunette…between natural and coloring it not more all over blonde for me…well let’s wait until my next hair appointment).

…and my favorite products is…
