Last night my mom and I went to Pairings for a Comedy Night they were hosting. Pairings is a great little place to grab some drinks and snacks with friends! I did a Foodie Penpal program this month and picked up a majority of my items to send to my penpal here at Pairings’ marketplace which is loaded with local goods. I had a glass of Debonne Riesling and we snacked on a cheese plate!
This was an event sponsored by Connect 534. Connect 534 is designed around creating and marketing new events along the State Route 534 Corridor by promoting local businesses and involving the community in new and revitalized events and programs! I attended a Paint & Coffee event last month! I love what they are doing with helping the community.
Windows on Pairings the first phase of Pairings, Ohio’s Wine & Culinary Experience. The mission is to create a center to spotlight the area’s plentiful wine and agricultural commerce while also providing educational, entrepreneurial and entertaining experiences for guests.
In 2008, this passionate group of business and civic community leaders began meeting to discuss opportunities for encouraging economic and community development initiatives for historic downtown Geneva, Ohio. With the area’s growing wine and agricultural industries, as well as their strong respective histories, the committee quickly determined the focus of their efforts.
With national, regional and local trends all indicating an increase in the popularity of wine and culinary tourism, the vision of creating a wine and culinary center was born. Northeast Ohio is home to 68% of Ohio’s nearly 2,000 grape-bearing acres, while the Geneva and Ashtabula County area is home to twenty wineries and counting.
Windows on Pairings the first phase of the entire Wine & Culinary Experience opened its doors in June 2014.
